Damongo NPP Accuses Political Opponents of Hiding Behind Chieftaincy to Tarnish the Image of Abu Jinapor.

NPP in the Damongo Constituency has issued a press statement signed by the Constituency Secretary Mr. Kadiri Abdul Rahaman accusing their political opponents of attempting to exploit chieftaincy in Gonjaland to gain support.

The press statement is in response to a press conference staged to accuse the MP for Damongo constituency Hon. Abu Jinapor of meddling in Damongo Chieftaincy Conflict.

*PRESS STATEMENT BY NPP IN DAMONGO CONSTITUENCY*

Our attention has been drawn to a recent press conference held by certain individuals claiming affiliation with the palace. Despite their guise of representing traditional interests, their actions appear more driven by political agendas than genuine concerns. This has led them to unjustly target the hardworking Member of Parliament for Damongo, Honorable Samuel Abu Jinapor.

We, the NPP in Damongo, are issuing this statement to caution these politicians. As a party, we will not sit aloof  and allow any political party to use underhanded tactics involving any chief. Enough of these rants and shenanigans in Damongo. We expected the palaces to maintain their dignity and not be manipulated by political parties to further their selfish agendas. The NPP and our indefatigable lawyer have earned the respect and love of the constituents. His opponents, frustrated by their lack of favor, are attempting to exploit chieftaincy to gain support.

Recently, their strategy was to accuse Lawyer Abu Jinapor of disrespecting John Mahama. This propaganda failed, and now they are resorting to the chieftaincy institution as their last hope to salvage their dead political fortunes. We all know the origin of the protracted Damongo chieftaincy problems, which started in 2016 after the demise of the late Damongo-Wura Jakpa. Where was Lawyer Abu Jinapor in Damongo politics then?

As a political party, we hold traditional rulers and institutions in high regard. However, we will not permit politicians to use these institutions to tarnish our MP’s hard-earned reputation. We call on the good people of Damongo to disregard these baseless and unsubstantiated accusations and treat them with the contempt they deserve. Lawyer Abu Jinapor is focused on matters of development for the benefit of the people of Damongo and has no interest in meddling in chieftaincy affairs.

In conclusion, we urge traditional rulers to respect their palaces and not allow themselves to be used for political dirty work. Lawyer Abu Jinapor has no involvement in Damongo chieftaincy matters, and his name should not be dragged into such issues.

……SIGNED…..
