Kanyiti Saburu Kantama Announces Candidacy for NPP Savannah Regional Communications Officer

Graphic Designer and Project Management Scholar Enters Race with Vision for Robust Party Communications

Kanyiti Saburu Kantama, popularly known as Alhaji NABCO, has formally announced his intention to contest for the position of Savannah Regional Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). His declaration comes following extensive consultations with grassroots members and key stakeholders across the Savannah Region.

The announcement positions Kantama as a candidate bringing a unique blend of practical political experience, professional expertise, and academic training to the role at a critical juncture for the party. With less than three years until the 2028 general elections, the communications directorate will play a pivotal role in shaping the party’s narrative and mobilizing voter support.

“I present myself not merely as a candidate but as a dedicated servant leader, deeply committed to the principles of the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition,” Kantama stated in his formal declaration, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening the party’s communications machinery in the Savannah Region.

BUILDING ON PROVEN TRACK RECORD

Kantama’s political engagement spans multiple layers of party organization. He previously served as TESCON Communications Officer at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), where he honed his skills in political messaging and youth mobilization. His work articulating the party’s vision to university students provided foundational experience in strategic communication.

During the 2024 elections, Kantama took on the role of GOTV Regional Coordinator, overseeing voter turnout initiatives that demanded strategic planning and team coordination. He continues to serve as a Communications Team Member in both the Damongo Constituency and at the regional level, providing him with frontline experience in narrative-shaping and countering opposition messaging.

PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS

Beyond his political involvement, Kantama brings substantial professional and academic qualifications to the table. As a certified professional graphic designer, he possesses expertise in visual communication—a critical asset in modern political campaigning across digital and traditional platforms. His ability to create compelling campaign materials positions him to modernize the party’s visual identity and reach voters across multiple mediums.

Currently pursuing an MPhil degree in Project Management and Community Development, Kantama brings strategic foresight and professional management practices to his candidacy. His advanced academic training emphasizes results-oriented planning and efficient resource deployment—principles he pledges to apply to the communications directorate.

A COMPREHENSIVE VISION

Kantama’s platform centers on building a robust, proactive, and inclusive communications machinery. His strategic priorities include establishing a comprehensive training program for party communicators at all levels, from polling stations to regional headquarters. The initiative would equip communicators with modern skills in public speaking, media relations, and digital content creation.

He also commits to fostering unified messaging that ensures the party speaks with disciplined coordination and a single, powerful voice. Additionally, Kantama plans to cultivate relationships with media houses and journalists to secure fair and extensive coverage of the party’s achievements and regional vision.

“I am especially passionate about empowering our youth, who are the key to our sustained success,” Kantama emphasized, signaling his focus on engaging the younger demographic within the party structure.

A CALL TO UNITY

In his closing remarks, Kantama appealed to party faithfuls and supporters to embrace his candidacy as a collective project. “Together, we can build the formidable communications engine that will deliver victory for the NPP and prosperity for the people of the Savannah Region,” he stated.

Kantama’s announcement marks the beginning of what promises to be an engaging contest for the regional communications position, with the party’s grassroots membership set to play a decisive role in the selection process.
