The Savannah Regional Minister Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibril has expressed much confidence in the Member of Parliament for Damongo and minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor, describing him as a distinguish personality in the Ghanaian political space.
The minister who was speaking at a ceremony in Damongo of the Savannah region on Saturday February 17, 2024 to acclaim the current MP as the NPP parliamentary candidate for the 2024 general elections, rated the the Damongo legislature 4.5 stars for his outstanding contribution to the developmental drive for the people of Damongo and Savannah region at large.

Hon. Muhazu who is the former Municipal Chief Executive for West Gonja before his elevation to the Regional minister noted that, he is not surprised the incumbent MP went unopposed the second time in the recent internal primaries of the party.
“For me, the gentleman we are here to acclaim this morning has distinguished himself and the rating is 4.5 stars that i will rate him. Therefore if you come and say you want to contest him, you know you are going to loose”, Hon. Muhazu added.
The Hon. minister touching on the competition between the ruling NPP candidate and the opposition NDC candidate Adam Mutawakilu, he gave a gentle advise to the NDC to save the little they have on them to allow the untouchable Jinapor to deliver what the electorates expect.

Hon Muhazu added that the NDC parliamentary candidate Hon. Garlus who has been missing in the Damongo constituency after he lost the Damongo seat cannot use only six months to campaign and defeat Hon. Abu Jinapor who has been campaigning for the past three years even after his election as the MP for Damongo Constituency.
He however indicated that the NPP in the upcoming December general elections will increase the vote margins in the Constituency and the Savannah region as a whole, sending a strong signal to their opponents that,
“It’s a simple message, go back and work very very hard. This time we are not looking at a gap of 2,3000, we are looking at a gap between 7,000 to 10,000 votes”, Hon. Muhazu jabs.

“We have been campaigning for the last three years and you are coming to use six months to beat that gentleman, no way. So the message is clear, we going to beat them and beat them, and beat them, and beat them, until when he says he’s no longer going.
