Bole Girls Voice Frustration Over Neglect By Bole Boys; Threaten to Continue Dating Strangers

A viral TikTok video has sparked widespread debate in Gonjaland after young women from Bole publicly expressed their disappointment with local men over persistent relationship and marriage issues.

In the video, which has gained significant traction on social media, some Bole girls speaking in the Gonja language aired their grievances about a troubling pattern they’ve observed. According to them, Bole men often maintain relationships with local women for extended periods sometimes over five years only to eventually leave and marry women from outside the community.

The young women’s frustration centers on what they perceive as a lack of commitment from men in their own community. They described situations where long-term relationships fail to result in marriage, with their partners ultimately choosing to wed other women instead.

Adding another layer to the controversy, the girls revealed that Bole men have been criticizing them for dating police officers and military personnel who come to the region for peacekeeping missions.

In response, the women posed a pointed question: Why shouldn’t they pursue relationships with these officers if their own community’s men refuse to marry them?

While maintaining a somewhat lighthearted tone, the girls in the video jokingly threatened to take legal action against Bole men who continue the pattern of leaving them for other women.

Despite the humorous delivery, the underlying message reflects genuine frustration with the situation.

The women have issued a clear ultimatum: local men should start marrying women from their own community, or they will continue building relationships with the visiting security personnel.

The issue appears to extend beyond Bole, with observers noting that men throughout Gonjaland seem to prefer marrying women from outside their communities rather than those they’ve dated locally. This preference for “strangers” over long-term local partners has become a source of tension and confusion.

Meanwhile, the men have their own complaints, accusing military and police officers of “collecting all their girlfriends” during their deployments to the region.

The viral video has ignited conversations across Gonjaland about relationship dynamics, commitment, and marriage patterns within the community. Residents are grappling with questions about why both men and women seem to prefer partners from outside their immediate communities, and what this means for local relationships and social cohesion.

As the debate continues, it’s clear that the issues raised go beyond simple relationship disputes, touching on deeper questions about community, commitment, and changing social dynamics in the region.
