Spear Fm’s morning show programme, “This is Savannah Super Morning Show”, has been crowned the best in the Savannah Region at the 5th Northern Region Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards.
The unprecedented recognition which was announced on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Radach Lodge in Tamale, described the station’s flagship programme as a “daily dose of balanced news”.
In a citation presented to the station, the Northern Region chapter of the GJA explained that the programme has distinguished itself as a platform where discussions focusing on issues affecting communities are championed.
It further revealed that the programme also gives listeners the opportunity to share their perspectives particularly on developmental issues in the region.

This huge milestone further cement’s the station’s position as the leading media outlet in the region where professionalism and the tenets of journalism are upheld in severe esteem.
The 5th Northern Region GJA Awards 2025 was held under the theme, “Bridging the Rural-Urban Education gap: The Role of the Media”.
It had in attendance the minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu who was the special guest of honour, Director General of the National Lottory Authority, King Abdul Salam, Northern Regional minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, Alhaji Mohammed Haroon Cambodia, Former Northern Regional Director of Education, National and regional executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
