The Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) held a successful extraordinary Congress for the 2025/2026 season at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale on October 31, 2025. The congress provided a platform for key stakeholders to discuss and decide on matters affecting the upcoming season. During the congress, a key decision was made regarding officiating fees, which will remain unchanged at GHC 200. This consistency will provide stability for match officials and ensure that the focus remains on the game.
The new season is set to kick off on November 7, 2025, and teams are expected to be ready for a thrilling competition. With the commencement date fast approaching, teams will be gearing up to showcase their skills and compete for the top honors. The excitement is building up, and fans are eagerly anticipating the start of the season.
The Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) has also announced exciting prize packages for the 2025/2026 season, showcasing its commitment to promoting football development in the region. The Division Two League winners will receive GHC 10,000, with runners-up taking home GHC 5,000, while the Women’s Division League 1A winners will pocket GHC 2,500, and runners-up GHC 1,500. This initiative is expected to motivate teams to push themselves to excellence, fostering a stronger and more competitive league.
Notably, the zonal structure for the upcoming season will remain unchanged from last season, with newly promoted teams replacing relegated teams from each zone. This continuity is expected to promote stability and ensure a smooth transition into the new season.
