The Gonjaland Youth Association has announced its National Secretariat Executives Election 2025, scheduled to take place on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Sawla. The election will fill national-level vacancies at the forthcoming Congress of the Association, which will be held from April 17 to 20, 2025.
Positions Up for Grabs
The following national executive positions are available for contest:
– President
– 1st Vice President
– 2nd Vice President (must be a female)
– Secretary
– Treasurer
– Organizer
– Assistant Organizer
– Public Relations Officer/Assistant Secretary
– Women’s Organizer
Qualification Requirements
Aspirants must meet the following requirements:
– Be an active or recognized member of an accredited branch of the Association
– Be of sound mind and without a criminal record
– Be at least 25 years old
– Not hold an office in a political party in Ghana
– Not be a traditional chief
– Not have been convicted of a criminal offense of dishonesty under Ghanaian law
Nomination Process
Nomination forms can be purchased at GH¢50 from the Electoral Committee. Completed forms must be endorsed by the chairman of the branch to which the aspirant belongs. Aspirants must also pay a non-refundable filing/processing fee, ranging from GH¢300 to GH¢1,000, depending on the position.
The Electoral Committee has outlined the election regulations, including the vetting process, voting procedures, and declaration of election results. The newly elected national executives will be sworn into office on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
