On September 9th, 2024, the newly appointed Savannah Regional Police Commander, DCOP Samuel Alfred Winful, paid a courtesy visit to the esteemed Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) at his palace.
The commander was accompanied by a delegation of senior police officers, including the Bole Divisional Police Commander, Bole District Police Commander, the Bole District Police Officer, and the Commander in charge of Piouce personnel in the Savannah region.
During the visit, DCOP Winful addressed the Bolewura, stating, “I want to assure you that my presence here in the Savannah region is not to interfere with chieftaincy affairs or undermine the traditional authority of the chiefs. Rather, my intention is to support and collaborate with you to ensure that you can carry out your traditional duties effectively and efficiently.” He emphasized his commitment to fostering a harmonious relationship between the police and traditional leaders, recognizing the vital role that chiefs play in maintaining law and order in their communities.
Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) warmly welcomed the new commander and expressed his gratitude for the visit. He assured DCOP Winful of his full support and blessings, stating, “We are pleased to have you lead the Savannah Regional Police Command, and we are confident that your leadership will bring about positive changes in our region.” The Bolewura also acknowledged the importance of collaboration between traditional leaders and law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
