Ghana Library Authority holds maiden career development seminar in Damongo

About one hundred (100) people have undergone a career development seminar aimed at guiding their career choices.

It was held at the conference hall of the Damongo Municipal Library, near the Jakpa Palace in the Savannah Region on Friday, September 6, 2024.

Participants made up of junior and senior high schools, graduates and other prospective applicants to tertiary institutions and parents took part in the programme.

The purpose of the seminar was to guide participants to identify career paths that align with their skills/strength and interests.

A lead facilitator of the seminar, Pastor Samuel Mahama Denkeri speaking on the sidelines of the event, stressed the significance of empowering young people to make informed choices about their future careers.

This he said, will unlock the full potential of the young individuals for the sustained development of both their local communities and the country as a whole.

Mr. Aaron Kuwornu, Regional Director for North East, Northern and the Savannah Regions, explained that the seminar was to provide a platform for young people to be guided on the best approach to career paths.

He used the opportunity to call on parents to assist in that regard so as to see their wards excel in their pursuit of education and subsequent careers.

Mr. Kuwornu revealed that more of such seminars are in the pipeline for beneficiaries in the Municipality and the region as a whole.
