The Mp for Damongo Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor who is also the Minister for Lands and Natural Resorces has handed over 1,500 furniture to the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the West Gonja Municipality on Wednesday 28th August 2024 for onwards distribution to about 30 Junior High Schools and about 38 primary schools in the Municipality.
The municipal chief executive (MCE) for West Gonja, Hon Karim Musah Kusubari presented the furniture on behalf of the MP for Damongo to Municipal Director of Education Mr. Issahaku Iddisah at the office of the MP in Damongo.

Speaking to Spear fm 91.9MHz, the MCE said building educational standards goes with a lot of logistics such as teaching and learning materials like books, furniture etc.
According to the MCE, the MP for Damongo lobbied the Northern Development Authority where he secured funds for the construction of the furniture and that this is not the first time Lawyer Abu Jinapor is making efforts to improve education in the Damongo constituency. According to him, Abu Jinapor built a number of classroom blocks and renovated some schools across the municipality and donated some text books to Bruto and other schools within the municipality, therefore, the donation of the furniture will go a long way to help improve teaching and learning.

Mr. Issahaku Iddisah, West Gonja Municipal Education Director who received the furniture expressed gratitude to the MP for Damongo Hon. Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor and appealed to the office of the MP to the GES in conveying to furniture to the various schools.

Mr. Issahaku Iddisah also added that the Ghana Education Service in the West Gonja Municipality is faced with accommodation challenges for teachers in the outskirt communities in the municipality.
He appealed to the MCE and the MP for Damongo constituency to consider constructing teachers accommodation for teachers who are faced with these challenges in the outskirt communities.
