On Monday, 5th August, 2024, in a gesture of reconciliation and respect for traditional authority, the Savannah Regional NPP Chairman Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu also know as Prof Kalamonia led his colleagues Regional Executives, alongside Constituency Executives and NPP Parliamentary Candidates across Savannah Region, to pay a courtesy call on the esteemed Jira Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I, King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom.
The purpose of their visit was to express gratitude to the revered King for his magnanimous decision to rescind a previously imposed punishment on Hon. Abu Jinapor.

Prof Kalamonia in his address made Jira Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto to understand that, in the whole of Ghana, there is no physical symbol of their beloved New Patriotic Party which is the elephant aside Gonjaland in the Mole National Park and that Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto is the real owner of the elephant.
Jira Yagbonwura, in his wisdom and paternal benevolence, warmly received the delegation. Visibly pleased by the visit of the NPP executives, seized the moment to make a profound statement that resonated with the essence of forgiveness and familiar bonds and declared that, “Abu Jinapor is his grandson, and as a father, one need not bite too deeply into his own child.”

These words, rich with metaphorical significance, underscored the Yagbonwura’s role not just as a ruler, but as a paternal figure to his subjects.
Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto went on to affirm that he had completely forgiven Hon. Abu Jinapor, demonstrating the transformative power of mercy and understanding in governance and family relations.

In a final act of benediction, Jira Yagbonwura extended his prayer and blessings for divine guidance to Hon. Abu Jinapor in all his future endeavors.
This gesture of reconciliation and blessing not only healed a rift but also reinforced the important role of traditional leadership in fostering unity and progress.
