The Savannah Regional Coordinating Council convened its first council meeting in Damongo on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, under the leadership of the Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salisu Biawurbi Esq.
The meeting brought together council members who serve as advisers to the Regional Minister, including Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), Coordinating Directors, and Regional Departmental Heads to deliberate on developmental issues across the region’s districts.

Addressing participants, Hon. Biawurbi announced that the council meetings would be held quarterly, four times each year, to ensure regular consultation and decision-making on development projects in the region. He urged all Regional Heads to prepare and submit their reports promptly to the Regional Coordinating Council.

In a significant administrative restructuring, the Regional Minister disclosed plans to relocate regional offices currently situated outside the regional capital to Damongo. Offices to be moved include the Regional Feeder Roads office in Salaga, the Regional Health Directorate in Daboya, and the Regional Agriculture Department in Bole. The relocation aims to enhance effective coordination and supervision of regional activities.
Hon. Biawurbi concluded the meeting by thanking participants and encouraging them to continue their efforts in developing the young Savannah Region.
