The Savannah Region branch of the opposition New Patriotic Party have quizzed with bewilderment, how a bridge can be started when same is undergoing construction and on the verge of completion.
This rhetorical question by the party in the region is in response to a viral communique asserting the government’s intention of sourcing funds to construct the Daboya, Yapei and Buipe bridges.
Mohammed Issah, the regional secretary of the party in the region in a statement clarified that contrary to claims in the communique, the projects have full funding as procured by the NPP led government and are expected to be completed soon.
The party therefore wondered how such projects can be commenced again when they are already at various stages of completion.
In the statement, the opposition party accused the president of chosen to deceive the Chiefs and people of the Savannah Region by taking undue credit for projects in the region initiated by the erstwhile NPP Nana Addo/Bawumia government.
The statement charged the president to allow sue process to continue and then supervise the completion for the benefit of the people.
The party warned that the president will not be allowed to skew or re-write what’s public knowledge, especially with physical construction of bridges, roads and other infrastructure projects in the region.
